BOB TULIPAN has worked in the music industry for more than thirty years. He produced shows with The Police, Cheap Trick, Judas Priest, the Talking Heads, Gloria Estefan, PIL, and many other acts in the USA and abroad; promoted theatrical films by The Rolling Stones, Yes, and Rod Stewart; managed PIL, the Psychedlic Furs, the Only Ones, and other notable artists; and founded a successful international company providing consulting services for major record companies, booking agencies, and clients ranging from Madonna and Nine Inch Nails to Elton John.
The cornerstone of BOB TULIPAN’s creativity is rooted in his unique vantage point as a major player in numerous and varied aspects of the entertainment industry. Having studied as an actor, Tulipan quickly expanded his horizons first in South Florida where after leaving college he formed Family, a Production Company with Otis Redding’s former Tour Manager Terry Morgan. Family booked Phil Walden’s Roster of Artists, The Allman Brothers, Cowboy, Wet Willie, Percy Sledge and others in Florida Colleges and also represented other regional recording artists. In addition the firm also produced major concert events. He then moved to New York and formed an artist management and production company signing several artists to major record deals and working on concert tours including Alice Cooper’s historic 1974 Brazil Tour. Bob served in a key role in creating and developing several international concert events including the First International Renaissance Faire and Alma del Sol,. During that period Bob served as the Publisher for Grapevine, Canada’s leading rock publication and was then hired to head up the touring division for Dragon Aire Limited’s groundbreaking launch of “Ladies and Gentlemen the Rolling Stones”, the theatrically released ROLLING STONES quadraphonic sound concert film that for the first time brought the concert experience to movie theatres by installing concert sound systems, run by sound engineers providing theater patrons with a 100 decibel real life concert sound. Within a few months Bob had expanded the film’s distribution with a powerful stereo mix, enhanced by a more compact method of sound installation that enabled broader distribution. To achieve the maximum exposure, Bob expanded the usual movie industry marketing approach and utilized his concert promotion skills by enlisting the support of London Records, Rolling Stones Records and numerous radio and television stations to co-sponsor the film’s presentation. As a result, the film reached top fifty in Variety Magazine’s Top Film Gross chart for several weeks. Bob then picked up the rights to distribute several other theatrical concert films by YES, ROD STEWART, and others.
